Quiet Hands is a grassroots, Sangat-led Sikh seva initiative. It grew from a simple conviction, that seva done in remembrance of Naam uplifts everyone it touches, the one who gives and the one who receives alike.
We are not a registered charity, and we do not ask for or accept donations. Everything is carried out by unpaid sevadars, giving their time and hands freely. The work runs along two paths that share one root in Naam.
Simran and Shabad to still the mind and lift the spirit, a quiet place to return to often. This is the heart of Quiet Hands, because all seva flows from remembrance first.
Care packages carried by hand to the homeless and less fortunate, across the UK and India, hygiene and warmth, food and drink, female and baby care, and more. This is Vand Chhako, sharing what we have, lived out plainly. We serve alongside other charities and organisations, Sikh and non-Sikh, who already care for those in need.
ਹਥ ਪਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਚੀਤੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਨਾਲਿ॥

Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ang 1376That single verse is where the name comes from. Busy hands, quiet mind, held at once. Hands fully in the seva of the world, mind resting in Naam. This is Chardi Kala, and it is the spirit we hope every part of Quiet Hands carries.
